Mayor Dellums believes that the Port of Oakland is well-positioned to be the port of Middle America. AMB/CCG’s plan for trade and logistics will allow Oakland to achieve that goal by opening trade and providing good opportunities with that part of the country.

Before making his decision, the mayor listened to both sides, sought input from various stakeholders, and - contrary to published reports - commissioned a report to make a more informed decision.
